Milo is 3

Milo turned three a couple weeks ago. For a few months I've been trying to savor his two-ness. He's changing so fast.  I hate it and love it. Milo can be the sweetest little guy, or the grumpiest. He and Sal alternate between playing really well together, and squabbling until my head is going to explode. I watch them together and I hope they will be good friends. I wish I knew how to help that happen.

When Milo is grumpy- watch out!

Milo loves to eat. Here he is eating raspberries.

Milo loves water. Here he is playing in the sink, but he also loves the bath, the kiddie pool and spraying the hose everywhere.

People comment most often on Milo's eye-lashes. They are pretty spectacular.

Here is Milo cuddling his kitten. He and Sal have been playing kitty and doggie all year. He loves to lean in for a kiss and at the last moment give me a lick. Sometimes on the lips.

Here is what I love about Milo growing up: 1. No more diapers! I wouldn't mind never changing another poopy diaper as long as I live. 2. Talking. He was a late talker. He said his first real words at the very end of last summer, and now he talks up a storm. I love when he explains something to me. 3. Being able to reason with him. I like that I can explain why something is and he gets it now. We have fewer frustrated tantrums.

Here is Milo looking for Easter eggs. He got so excited. His favorite game right now is hide-and-seek. He hides in plain sight and then screams with delight when we find him.

Here are some things I'm afraid I'll loose as he gets bigger- 1. Snuggling. He is really cuddly still. When he gets out of the bath tub he likes for me to wrap him in a towel and pretend he's a baby. 2. His chubby cheeks. Although, if he's got enough of my genes, maybe that won't be a problem. 3. The soft, downy peach fuzz all over his back and shoulders. Baby skin!

Here is one of the few pictures we got on his actual birthday. He was covered in what we thought was poison oak, and his face was red and puffy. Then he tripped and bruised his forehead and cut up his nose and cheek. Poor guy.

The best toy ever- markers and a box.

oh, milo. I love the eyelash photo.
part of me envies your resolve to be done with child bearing. the other part wishes you would suck it up and give us more cousins. we don't like being the only freak show.

I love that Milo still has baby chub on his face. He is my favorite 3 year old boy on the planet!
