Pumpkins and school pictures

Scott seized the day and made the pumpkin carving happen this year, which is good, because now we're 2 for 9! Yay.

Sal worked on the design for days before coming up with the perfect face. She named it Mayax after the main character in Julie of the Wolves.
Scott carefully copied it onto the pumpkin.
The light was good, so we decided to try some first grade school pictures. (I'm too cheap for the actual school ones,  plus I think the backdrops are tacky.)
I'm not sure we got the picture, we may try again another day, but Sal is pretty cute in these.
Love the gap in her teeth. She does too.

It is so hard to get a good picture of Milo. These aren't stellar, but they've got personality!

I said, "Milo, smile!" He growled instead.

Here he was telling me a story about the time he found me a leaf.
He says he likes the brown ones. Poor boy needs some more Maine time.

We need to move to Sacramento so your kids can make me laugh every day. I'm crazy about the photos you took of milo and sal. I miss you!

PS I'm reading the book you recommended and like it a lot. Now I find myself saying things like, 'Carolina, when you hit William over the head with a knife that hurts him' instead of just yelling at her :)
