Naps, Potty, Paci

So this is day three of no more diapers. We've had a couple accidents (including two embarrassing ones in a row at a friends house) but mostly she's been dry. Here's my question: Is it just coincidence that this is also the third day in a row that Sal has not taken a nap? I put her in her bed at her regular time, then she talks and sings for an hour or so, then she cries to get out and go to the bathroom... and when I put her on, she really has to go. I also threw away all her pacifiers four or five days ago, (finally! it was hard to do it) so that could also be a factor. I can't give them back... I've been thinking she's way too old for a paci for, like, a year.

What do I do? I need nap time! It's my quiet time. I don't know, maybe it's a fair trade... pacis and diapers for being able to stay awake all day.

(Sal is shouting/singing "I am like a star" at the top of her lungs from her bedroom.)

giving sam his binky for naptime is what works for him, but it wouldn't have worked for elliot. he just didn't want to nap after age two. he was just done. it killed me seeing my friends' kids nap till age 4, but once i accepted that he wasn't going to nap it got better. we just found more fun things to do, and we moved up bedtime.
i know a lot of people do quiet time. the kids still go into their room for an hour but they read, play, sing, etc. instead of nap. i tried that with elliot and it didn't really work, but maybe sal would like it.
ok that was a long comment, sorry. good luck!

you are tough. i couldn't make myself take stella's pacifier away until she was three. she was such a good napper. but i only let her have it in her bed.
so, i would rather her have a pacifier than not take naps.
good job on the potty-training! i think stella is finally good. finally.
